What a history! Desiree's seen it all. Here she explains..

"I'm a third generation local. I was born on Oahu, my mother and grandmother were born on Maui.

I moved to Hollywood at the age of thirteen to live with my father who worked in the entertainment industry. I was a dance major and graduated from Hollywood High School back in the wild and crazy 70's. I spent my first few years out of high school working as a legal secretary for a law firm on the Sunset Strip, who represented many of the rich and famous including Robert Shapiro, who we know represented O.J. Simpson in his now famous case.

Because I always loved music, I quit the legal business and got into the music industry doing record promotion for ABC and RCA records.

In 1980, I decided I'd had enough of the city life and wanted to come home to Hawaii, however Oahu was getting to be as much of a big city as Los Angles so I moved to the Big Island, which is more like the Hawaii of my youth.

Soon after I was hired by and became Operations Manager of the first FM on the Big Island. Wanting to get more into the fun aspects of radio, I moved to KPUA and did mid-days on the air playing oldies and big band music. We put KWXX on the air in 1984 and I'd been afternoons there for 18 years. With rock and roll being my favorite music genre, I jumped at the chance to do afternoons now on B-97.
